But the film's distributors are trying to move that screening as much as this week to expedite a choice, said Tom Ortenberg, president of Lions Gate Films, among the companies releasing the film.An R rating means those younger than 17 can't start to see the movie unless accompanied by an adult. The MPAA ratings board gave "Fahrenheit 9/11" an R rating for "violent and disturbing images and then for language.""I think the message from the movie is so important that it needs to be available to be seen by as wide bavarian motor works logo as possible," Ortenberg said Monday. "Frankly, I do not consider any of the images from the film any more disturbing when compared with we have all seen on the cable news networks and also the gratuitous violence that fills the screen of so many PG-13-rated action pictures."In "Fahrenheit 9/11," Moore depicts President Bush as asleep in the wheel in the months before the Sept. 11 attacks. The film also accuses the White House of breeding anxiety about more terrorism to gain public support for your Iraq war.The film's images will include a public beheading in Saudi Arabia, Iraqis burned by napalm and a grisly scene of an Iraqi man dumping an inactive baby into a truckbed loaded with bodies."It is sadly very possible that many 15- and 16-year-olds will be asked and recruited to offer in Iraq in the next year or two," Moore said. "If they are of sufficient age to be recruited and capable of being in combat and risking their lives, they certainly deserve the right to see what is going on in Iraq.""Fahrenheit 9/11" won the very best honor at last month's Cannes Film Festival for Moore, who received the 2002 Academy Award for optimum documentary with "Bowling for Columbine."Moore had to seek new distributors for "Fahrenheit 9/11" after Disney refused to let its Miramax subsidiary release it, saying it turned out too politically charged.Miramax bosses Harvey and Bob Weinstein bought the movie back from Disney and aligned Lions Gate and IFC Films to assist distribute it.The film opens June 25 in 500 to at least one,000 theaters in "every major city in the united states," Ortenberg said. That constitutes an exceptionally wide release among documentaries, which usually play in only a handful of theaters.By David Germain

She was killed with your ex 2-year-old son John Michael Cortez; her 22-year-old friend Cynthia Jacques; and Jacques' 2-year-old daughter, Allissa.Authorities say 22-year-old Carlos Angel Diaz Santiago fled the scene with the Thursday afternoon train crash but was arrested Friday on four counts each of homicide and aggravated assault. Police also took into custody another man who they are saying may have been in the car with Santiago; he was not charged."It seems like there was a great deal of bad luck involved by the victims," says state police Lt. Edward Snyder. "If she'd arrived (at the railroad crossing) just moments earlier, she might have been in a position to pass across the tracks without any problem. As it was, she was only several blocks away from a police station."Police say Santiago had argued with Wertz at a fast-food restaurant and then chased her in their car at speeds as high as 90 mph for a half-hour through this small town about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia.Authorities repeat the moment the chase began, Wertz called 911, identified her pursuer, and said excitedly her order of protection against Santiago had just expired.Police say the chase ended when Santiago rear-ended her car at the railroad crossing as she waited for a train to pass, using his car to push her vehicle on top of the tracks. The Norfolk Southern train was traveling at 40 mph and was can not stop. The car was dragged 50 yards and was so badly mangled, rescue workers would not tell the make and model.A 9-year-old girl was at a nearby playground and witnessed the horrifying crash. "I heard the screech in the train trying to stop the car was twirling and twirling, and it stopped. All four people in there flew out."Relatives and neighbors said Wertz was wanting to flee an abusive relationship. David Peterson, a 24-year-old mechanic who lived near Wertz, said he often saw her get back with a bloody nose and bruises on her face. "It was horrible. Everyone knew about this and everyone tried to talk to her about getting help. I wish we had called police on any one those nights, but we only thought that she would handle it."Wertz's sister-in-law, Tammy Wertz, says Wertz decided to move some 80 miles far from Sinking Spring, because her boyfriend was physically and verbally abusive. "The relationship had lasted for five-years, and she never took his actions seriously enough. Mike geary isn't even the child's father, but she just couldn't move away from him."The murders have stunned residents from the town as well as police. "I are already doing this for 2years," says Lt. Snyder. "I never understood why they require children in these things."

In seven with the fields, the earnings gap grew in the five-year period. The report points too women still struggle to break with the "glass ceiling" that historically has been a barrier to advancement at work."I don't find one line of great news in the report," said Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y. "Yet I believe people believe women are performing better."Maloney and Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., discussed the report with female journalists invited with a luncheon Wednesday. The lawmakers are letting it go to the public on Thursday. The report won't explain why earnings may have dropped for women managers. It noted the pay gap was widest among parents, which women find it harder to balance children plus a career.Among married managers, nearly Sixty percent of men have children in your house, compared to 40 percent of women. The ten industries examined in the report through the GAO, the investigative arm of Congress, employ 71 percent of female workers and 73 percent of female managers in the usa.For example, female managers inside the communications industry made 86 cents for each dollar earned by male managers in 1995. Five-years later, a woman in the same field made 73 cents for every single dollar earned by a man, the GAO found. There are drops in entertainment and recreations services; finances, insurance and property; business and repair services; retail trade; as well as other professional services.Women's earnings in comparison with men increased in three fields - public administration, hospitals and medical services and academic services - according to the data. But as outlined by Census Bureau figures, women decide to make their way into managerial positions. There have been more than 7.1 million women in full-time executive, administrative or managerial positions in 1998 - a 29 percent jump from 1993.Approximately 9.4 million men held precisely the same kinds of positions, but that represented just a 19 percent increase.More recent Census data will be available this fall, in accordance with the authors of the GAO report. © MMII The Associated Press.
